Remotely switch between two sources, or deflect a single beam
High repeatability
TTL operation
Remotely switch between two sources, or deflect a single beam into or out of the optical path, with the 77765 Beam Steerer. It works with laser beams, focused beams or collimated beams up to 1.3 inches (33 mm) in diameter. The 77765 consists of an AlMgF2 coated mirror on a precision bearing driven by a small DC motor. The mirror has two positions. Mirror switching is controlled by a toggle switch on the mirror enclosure, or via TTL signals. The two positions have fine adjustment to control beam deviation. The mirror is 3.3 x 1.9 inches (83 x 50 mm), and is coated with a broadband reflection coating for work from the UV to the NIR.
The MS257™ has dual output ports and multiple gratings for continuous scanning over a very broad wavelength range. Typically, you need two sources to cover such a broad range. The 77765 switches between the sources without having to break down your experiment to change sources. Fig. 1 shows the principle of operation and the optical path length.
