We offer packaged IR Sources, which run selected IR elements, and modular components from which you can build your own IR Source.

Table 1 Overview of Packaged IR Sources

Source Type Runs These IR Elements Output Notes
Apex Source 6575, 6580, 80030 1.3 inch (33 mm) collimated beam New, fully integrated source
SiC Source 80030 1.5 inch (38 mm) collimated beam Low cost system for SiC source

Building Your Own System

We offer all the components necessary to put together an infrared source using the Series Q and PhotoMax™ Housings and the 7340 or 7341 Dual Source Monochromator Illuminators. These housings do not have built in electronics; the 68938 Power Supply must be ordered separately. The necessary interconnecting cable is supplied with the interface kits.

Series Q System

The output of the Series Q is a collimated, 1.3-inch (33 mm) diameter beam. You can then re-focus, turn, filter or aperture this beam with the optical accessories that we offer. Two condensing lens assemblies are available; an F/1.1 Germanium condenser and an F/1 Zinc Selenide assembly. Ge transmits from 1.9 to 18 µm; ZnSe transmits from 0.6 to 12 µm. See Table 2 for the necessary mounting hardware for the various IR elements.

Dual Source Monochromator Illuminators

The 7340 and 7341 allow continuous scans from the UV to the IR. They hold two sources simultaneously and independently. Output is a focused spot matched to Oriel Monochromators.
