This is a convenient and practical set of secondary transmittance and spectral standards for the calibration of ultraviolet and visible wavelength spectrophotorneters. All calibrations are derived from National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) certified secondary standards.
Newport\'s ultraviolet and visible spectrum spectrophotometer calibration filter set provides the user with a set of secondary standards for everyday use in the calibration of spectrophotometric instrumentation. Each set consists of three (3) optical density filters (evaporated inconel on a quartz substrate), one (1) holmium oxide filter, and one (1) blank filter holder. The filters are packaged in a hardwood storage case for protection and convenient storage. A calibration chart is included with the set.
The optical density filters are calibrated using NIST certified secondary standards. Stated values of transmittance are accurate to ±1.0%. Transmittance will not vary more than ±1.0% of the stated value over the period of one year. Newport sets should be returned to Newport for periodic recalibration. Each optical density is calibrated at eight discrete wavelengths: 250.0, 280.0, 340.0, 360.0, 400.0, 465.0, 546.1 and 635.0 nanometers.
The holmium oxide filter is provided for use in wavelength calibration of spectrophotometers. A spectral scan is included for reference.
The blank filter holder is provided for use in the reference path of dual beam spectrophotometers during calibration to allow balancing of the sample and reference beams.
