1064nm熔融光纤偏振光束合束器/分束器用于将两束正交偏振光耦合到一根光纤中,或将一束输入光分离成两束正交线偏光输出。这些装置完全通过光纤操作;偏振状态通过熔融光纤节点组合或分离。与基于方解石棱镜的偏振光束合束器相比,这种全光纤的构造能够实现更高的传输率,承受更高的功率。由于熔融光纤偏振光束合束器中的保偏光纤并不用作偏振器,因此输入光必须是线偏光,且对准光纤的快轴和/或慢轴。这些装置非常适合将两个泵浦激光器的光耦合到单根光纤中,以加强掺铒或拉曼光纤放大器的输入光。
