1x4, 1x8 and 1x16 single wavelength, wavelength flattened and broadband fused couplers
1310 and 1550 nm wavelengths
Low optical loss
Environmentally stable
Newport’s wide range of Fiber Optic Coupler products have been developed using fused fiber technology. The optical fiber couplers allow bi-directional coupling and can be used to either split or combine signals. Newport\'s 1x4, 1x8 and 1x16 fiber optic couplers are available with single wavelength, wavelength flattened, and broadband types.
Single wavelength couplers provide optimal performance at the design center wavelengths of 1310 or 1550 nm. Wavelength flattened fiber couplers extend the optimal wavelength range to a band of ±40 nm around the center wavelengths. Broadband couplers are operational over both the 1310 and 1550 nm windows.
All the couplers feature a fully ruggedized black plastic housing with 1 m long, 3 mm PVC covered pigtails. All standard models come non-terminated, FC/UPC, or FC/APC. For additional termination options, refer to Ordering Information.
For 1X2 and 2X2 single mode fiber optic couplers, see Fiber Optic Coupler, Singlemode, 1x2 and 2x2, and for WDMs and EDFA tap couplers, see WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexer) and EDFA Tap Coupler . For multimode fiber couplers, see Fiber Optic Couplers, Multimode.
