The PS-T series 1-inch Optical Post-&-Peg System has a host of components including 1-in. (25.4-mm) diameter optical mounting posts, precision spacers, and pedestal base adaptors, but what really makes this system unique is the (M-) PS-1P Peg Adaptor post. This adaptor includes Newport\'s Patented Precision Peg and allows any of the PS-T posts to be precisely installed and removed without changing its location in your optical setup. The Peg Adaptor can also be used with standard Post Holders like the VPH and SPH series but is particularly useful when used with optical breadboards. In use, the peg is threaded into the mating part (e.g. a PS-T post, a VPH Post holder or a SA2 breadboard) and the adaptor is threaded to an optical table or another PS-T post. The peg precisely slides into the PS-1P adaptor and is locked in place with the two set screws. The curved shape of the Peg allows the setscrews to pull the two parts together to create a solid stable connection.
The optical mounting posts are made from solid stainless steel and include Newport\'s signature scribe lines for visibly discerning post heights. Unlike the standard PS Series posts which have 8-32 (M4) threads, these post have 1/4-20 (M6) threaded ends. These posts can be threaded directly in to an optical table or, with the PS-B-1 or PS-B-0.5 Pedestal Base Adaptor be converted to a pedestal post. These posts are also compatible with the Q-TMS Series post holders if quick height adjustment is required. If the best possible stability is required and you are working at non-standard heights, four sizes of precision spacers are available - the thinnest at 0.031-in (0.79-mm).
The PS-T series Post-&-Peg System with its unique Peg Adaptor post combines the best utility with unmatched versatility for any optical or production lab.
The PS-1P Peg Post Adaptor is used to allow stable and repeatable removal and replacement of this SA2 Series Breadboard.
