Block unused or stray beams
Numbered grid pattern aids beam alignment and height setting
Holds English or metric ball drivers / Allen wrenches
Magnetic base for quick stable placement on optical table
Promotes eye safety
The BB-series beam blocks, now in three different sizes, are multi-function accessories for the lab, combining the features of a beam blocker and beam aligner with a hex wrench tool holder. The front surface has a grid pattern which can be used as a reference for aligning or leveling an optical beam. Numbers are printed on the edge of the grid pattern indicating height, in inches, above the table surface. Promoting eye safety, unused or stray beams can be easily blocked.
The BB-series beam blocks are now available in three sizes: large (the BB-L ), medium (the BB-M ) and small (the BB-S ). The large-sized BB-L is 9-in. (229-mm) tall and 3-in. (76-mm) wide, has a three-element magnetic base and is designed to hold up to 8 English or metric ball drivers. The medium-sized BB-M is 7.5-in (191-mm) tall and 1.5-in (38.1-mm) wide, has a single-element magnetic base and has 8 holes to hold Allen wrenches. The smallest of the group, the BB-S , is 6.8-in (171-mm) tall and 1-in (25.4-mm) wide, has a single-element magnetic base and is also designed to hold Allen wrenches. The BB-S is different from the others in that it employs a low surface Gauss magnet to lightly but firmly hold various Allen wrenches. This feature makes placing and picking Allen wrenches amazingly simple and quick.
All of the BB-series beam blocks are made from black-anodized aluminum alloy have proven to be an invaluable accessories in both the research lab and production environments.
