LTA travel range must be limited to 25 mm when used with this stage. The vertical load capacity is limited to 30 N. -LH versions require a custom interface adapter.

When a smaller footprint is required, mounting actuators on the side of a stage can minimize the envelope of the positioning system. Side-drive versions of the 462 Series stages are available as 1-, 2-, and 3-axis assemblies, with right- and left-handed configurations for the 3-axis system. To convert an existing center-drive stage to side-drive, Newport offers side-drive mounting kit. See table below for the compatible kit for each axis of a right- or left-handed stage. The locking plates may be required to relocate to the other side of the stage.
