The 1.0 inch (25.4 mm) 9302 Adjustment Screw provides smooth, wobble-free adjustment combined with exceptional long-term stability and low susceptibility to thermal variation. It is the same 1/4-80 precision screw used in our optic mounts and allows you to build your own mounts or positioners. In addition to a travel of 1.0 in. (25.4 mm); the screw has a ball tip, braked brass bushing, and is knob adjusted. Outstanding positional and thermal performance is achieved using a proprietary assembly process. This assembly process uses tightly toleranced subcomponents and the ideal amount of lubrication. The small amount of lubrication is optimized to mitigate the effects of hysteresis and long-term creep caused by lubricant migration.
Our proprietary assembly process uses very tight tolerances and allows us to use very little grease. We limit the amount of grease because over time, and as the temperature varies, large amounts of grease can cause the threads to migrate, leading to hysteresis as well as long-term creep. The result of our proprietary process is actuators that have very smooth, wobble-free movement, high precision, and exceptional long-term and thermal stability.
