Angular positioning of fiber optics is critical to maximizing coupling efficiency. Up to six degrees of positioning freedom is available by combining the ULTRAlign™ Linear Stages with tilt/rotation stages. Stainless steel construction used throughout ensures long-term stability.

561-TILT and 562F-TILT Tip/Tilt Platforms provide two-axis (θXθY) angular alignment of the fiber with minimal translation. The tilt platform mounts on top of an XYZ stage for five degrees of freedom. Fiber and device holders mount to a rail on top of the tip/tilt platform. Both the561-TILT and 562F-TILT stages utilize precision 100 TPI adjustment screws, and are available in right or left-hand configurations.

561-GON Goniometer provides precision rotation (θZ) about the axis of the fiber. This is useful for aligning polarization maintaining fiber or fiber arrays. The goniometer must be attached to a 561-GM Goniometer Bracket to mount it on a XYZ linear stage. 561-GON includes an SM Series Micrometer for precision positioning. Both right and left-hand configurations are available.

561-RFC Fiber Chuck Rotation Mount provides simple rotation (θZ) about the axis of the fiber. It is designed to hold 0.25 in. (6.35 mm) diameter fiber chucks and allow 360° rotation in θZ, with a sensitivity of 2°.

561-GM Gimbal Fiber Chuck Positioner provides three-axis (θXθYθZ) angular positioning of a fiber. It is designed to hold 0.25 in. (6.35 mm) diameter fiber chucks and allow 360° rotation in θZ, with a sensitivity of 2° and ±5° of tilt in θXθY with a sensitivity of 12 arc sec.
