The RF-ADAPT Rectangular Fiber Bundle Adapter provides a simple solution to optimally coupling Oriel’s circular to rectangular fiber bundles to the input flange of any Oriel monochromator. Effectively coupling a fiber into an instrument can be difficult, as light diverges upon leaving the fiber. The most common solution is to use lenses to focus output light into the input aperture of the instrument. The RF-ADAPT simplies this, by mechanically coupling the rectangular ferrule of a circular to rectangular fiber bundle as close to the input slit of an Oriel monochramator as possible. This gives output light from fiber minimal distance to diverge and not be input into the monochromator. Users do not have to worry about calculating end of the fiber to input slit distances and finding a lens with the right focal length-just install the fiber into the adapter and couple to the monochromator. The RF-ADAPT has a 1.5 inch female flange for coupling.
