The 80070 Accessory Compartment holds accessories at the proper optical height between the MIR8035™ scanner and detector. Standard 1.5 inch Oriel flanges allow for easy coupling to the 80007 SiC source, 80009 QTH source, and other Oriel FT Spectrometer products. An off-axis parabolic reflector design is utilized for several reasons. A focal point displaced from the mechanical axis allows full access to the reflector focus area. Gold coated reflectors provide better IR reflectance and are less expensive than typical IR refractive optics with transmittance limitations.
