The 71617 Amplified Germanium Photodetector has a built-in trans impedance amplifier. This uncalibrated 5 mm diameter Germanium detector has a 700-1800 nm range. The amplifier provides trans impedance gains from 10^4 V/A to 10^9 V/A. It also offers three selectable time constant settings in order to match the upper bandwidth limit of most experimental needs. The lowest noise levels are achieved by operating at the lowest bandwidth setting. This amplified model requires +/-15 V DC to operate, which the Laboratory Power Supply models 70703 and 70709 can provide.
