Use this Collimator (COL) to delivery light easily and efficiently from your liquid light guide (LLG) into your Olympus Microscope. Product includes microscope mounting ring. Designed to be used with model: SOLA-LLG.The collimator has been designed to provide control over the size of the illuminated area at the sample plane. This design allows the user to maximize the illumination intensity and uniformity for the field of view (FOV) of the eyepiece or camera sensor.The range adjustment is achieved by using two achromatic lenses and adjusting their relative positions within the collimator. The two adjustment knobs must be used in tandem. One is a liquid light guide (LLG) adjustment knob and sets the distance between the LLG and the first lens. The other adjustment is the lens adjustment knob, which determines the distance between the two lenses.Instructions for achieving the smallest and largest uniformity illuminated areas within the FOV can be found under Literature and Documents. The optimum procedure for all alignments is to focus the image of the LLG on the back aperture of the objective.
