The F-SM1500-7.8/125-P Polyimide Coated Single-Mode Fiber is an all-glass "Bridging Fiber" for reducing splice loss between sensor fibers and telecoms fibers and supports single-mode light propagation for a 1550 - 1650 nm operating wavelength range. This low attenuation, step-index fiber has a uniform core refractive index and a matched-clad profile. It has a 0.19 to 0.21 NA, a 7.8 μm Mode Field Diameter, a 125 μm Cladding Diameter and a 145 μm Coating Diameter. Typical applications include sensors, instrumentation, device pigtailing, and light delivery. This bare fiber does not include a protective fiber jacket. Standard pricing is per meter.
Polyimide is a high performance polymer, which can withstand short-term temperatures as high as 400°C and continuous temperatures of 300°C, allowing the fiber to survive in high temperature wells and thermally cured embedding processes.
